Saru joined UNA in 2022 as the Manager of Marketing and Communication, bringing with her experience in nonprofit networks, program design and development, social enterprise, and strategic communications. With a deep interest in both grassroots and systemic social change strategies, Saru believes in the power of collaboration and impactful storytelling. Prior to joining UNA, Saru worked as the Director of Learning and Collaboration for the Southern California College Access Network and as a freelance data management consultant. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for College Access Plan in Pasadena, CA and is excited about finding new opportunities to connect and serve the community here in Utah.

Saru earned her master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, where she focused on Nonprofit Management and Policy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The Ohio State University. In her downtime, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog, making art, dancing, and cracking a few jokes here and there.
