Ed Roberson is Director of Business Development for JourneyTEAM, a Utah based IT consulting company focused on helping companies to bridge the gap between the strategic, operational and tactical goals of a business and the technology necessary to help them to achieve those goals. Ed’s business development activities for JourneyTEAM covers their CRM, Financials, ERP, Cloud Services and SharePoint practices including an overriding focus on Cybersecurity. JourneyTEAM is approaching their 25th year in business and is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.

Ed is a Texas transplant having moved to Utah after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent the next 13 years with Hercules Aerospace and ATK in roles ranging from the design, development testing and deployment of Strategic Missile Systems (yes he was a bonafide “Rocket Scientist”) to Project and Program Management and ultimately Marketing and Business Development. Ed was also part of an ATK spinoff company that specialized in the environmental remediation of sites that were contaminated with explosive waste and other hazardous materials. Ed also earned his MBA from Westminster College.

In 1996 Ed left ATK to start a consulting practice helping small businesses navigate the Sales and Marketing process.He was later recruited into the Telecommunications industry and spent the next 14 years in various leadership roles ranging from Account Executive to Regional Sales Management covering seven Western States, Government and Education and Federal contracts.
After striking out on his own as a consultant, Ed joined the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce and dove in to participation at a level that ultimately led to him being elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Since then Ed has also served on the boards of the Murray, South Salt Lake, Utah Black Chamber, and the Utah Asian Chambers of Commerce. He has been a President’s Ambassador for the Salt Lake Chamber for over 15 years. He is one of the founding members and currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Executive Networking Group (ENG), an association of some of the most well connected business professionals in the State of Utah.

Ed is married to Tracy Akimoto-Roberson and they have six boys and two grandkids. He loves to cook, fish, travel and root for his Texas Longhorns.
