Recession Ready Nonprofits

Dec 17, 2019 8:30 am - 10:00 am

The US economy is its longest recovery on record. The economy is cyclical, so this recovery won’t last indefinitely. While cannot predict exactly when an economy will expand or contract, we can prepare for an economic downturn. You can participate in person or via the web.

UNA’s Recession Ready Nonprofits will give you an understanding of how economic contractions impact nonprofits, how you can begin preparing for a recession, and some tools you can use to develop a robust financial strategy to mitigate the impact of an economic contraction on your nonprofit – all delivered in plainspoken language. (So although asymmetric shock, GATT, price elasticity, and the discount rate are all important parts of the economy, we won’t discuss them it this panel. You are welcome!)

Panelists include Juliette Tennert, director of Economic and Public Policy Research at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, Kathy Bray, President and CEO of Volunteers or America, and Shalaun Howell, CPA, Shaw & CO, P.C.
