Nonprofit boards govern by providing high-level vision and leadership to ensure sound stewardship of organizational assets and resources.

WHO: This component of UNA's Nonprofit Organizational Credential is targeted for EDs, CEO's and board members. Please email Jill if you have another role and are interested in participating.  Your organization will benefit the most when both CEO's and board members  participate in the training.

Your registration for this training program creates a commitment to attend the training classes, complete the assignments, and participate in the workshop.

Classroom Training - Session 1: May 3, 2018 from 9:00AM - 3:00PM

Classroom Training - Session 2: May  17, 2018 from 9:00AM - 3:00PM

Workshop: July 19, 2018 from 9:00AM - 1:00PM

Completing this course will give you the knowledge and tools to take your board governance to the next level. Through discussion format, this component of UNA's Nonprofit Organizational Credential will prepare you to:

Create and support an active, engaged board
Orient and provide ongoing training to board members on their roles and responsibilities.
Use your board to build public understanding and trust
Ensure your bylaws and policies and procedures align with and inform how your organization's work is done
Provide financial oversight and monitoring to the organization.
Set organizational goals and assess performance.
Successfully build a partnership between the board and the CEO (as applicable).

Successful completion of Board Governance will create best practices in Board Governance for your nonprofit. Best practices build capacity and capacity creates sustainability.
