Have you sometimes asked yourself the following kinds of questions...“I need to grow my non-profit, but I don’t have the money!” “Should foundations be the foundation of my donor program?” “How can I operate without operating funds?” “I don’t need a Major Gifts Program, I just need Gifts. Period.” “I really dislike having to ask for money – and I just can’t ask my friends for any more”.

Across our nation and across Utah, small nonprofits deliver outsized impacts on supporting lives of dignity, beauty, and mobility. Yet, developing sustainable organizational income remains a challenge. This workshop will focus on specific strategic shifts and practical results oriented tactics that will foster a culture of fundraising.

After an interactive conversation about challenges and opportunities in attracting donations, small group work will focus on messaging to donors, collaborative resources, and engaging and sustaining donors. At the end of the workshop, participants will have envisioned a path for increasing donations.

Workshop Objectives:
- Effectively communicate your needs to donors
- Identify steps to create a business model for fundraising
- Add collective donor development to your existing development strategy
- Simultaneously embrace creativity and accountability

Faciliated by Dianne Browning:
With five years of executive director-level nonprofit experience, overseeing large budgets, and managing multiple teams, Dianne brings her passion for finding the resources to get things done to this workshop. Assisting nonprofits in getting the attention of donors through partnerships, cause-based marketing, and media outreach has resulted in raising $20M in Utah for "small" nonprofits. 

As a professional staff member for Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Dianne has presented opportunities on how Utah non-profits could influence the public sector. In addition to managing his Outreach Services, she served as his lead policy advisor on Labor, Education and Pensions, Appropriations, and Human Services matters. With over a decade of strategic engagement with federal agencies on behalf of state and local governments, non-profits, and private enterprises she continues to be an advisor to nonprofits and state agencies on federal program implementation.
