Cedar City - Collaborative Fundraising: Getting it Done!

Nov 02, 2018 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

UNA Workshop in Cedar City—Collaborative Fundraising: Getting it Done!
8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; (Networking lunch 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m., Sponsored by SUU Sherratt Library)
Presented by Dianne Browning

Have you sometimes asked yourself the following kinds of questions...“I need to grow my non-profit, but I don’t have the money!” “Should foundations be the foundation of my donor program?” “How can I operate without operating funds?” “I don’t need a Major Gifts Program, I just need Gifts. Period.” “I really dislike having to ask for money – and I just can’t ask my friends for any more”.

Across our nation and across Utah, small nonprofits deliver outsized impacts on supporting lives of dignity, beauty, and mobility. Yet, developing sustainable organizational income remains a challenge. This workshop will focus on specific strategic shifts and practical results oriented tactics that will foster a culture of fundraising.

After an interactive conversation about challenges and opportunities in attracting donations, small group work will focus on messaging to donors, collaborative resources, and engaging and sustaining donors. At the end of the workshop, participants will have envisioned a path for increasing donations.

Workshop Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of making a case for giving
- Identify steps to create a business model for fund raising
- Connect with existing and collective donor development strategies and tools
- Learn to embrace creativity and accountability simultaneously
