Take a Minute and Ask Yourself these Questions

Do your volunteers or staff drive as part of their duties? Do you provide them with cell phones? Do they own their own cell phone?Does your organization have exposure to other risks that could be damaging or catastrophic? Is there a policy in place to reduce that risk?

You may be saying, “But I’m a nonprofit. We’ll be okay.” Or, “We have insurance and an attorney they’ll protect us.” Not true. If these are your thoughts this workshop is for you. Insurance and legal advice can only go so far to protect you, your board, your staff, your volunteers, and your organization. Understanding risks and how to alleviate, prevent, or diminish them is critical for all organizations.
Risk management is about protecting your organization, so you don’t need an attorney. Learn a process to forecast risks and take proactive steps to deal with the identified risks before any unpleasant surprises occur. Join us at this workshop to find out how to protect and conserve your organization's resources (people, money, good name).

If you don’t know you are vulnerable or if you don’t have a policy in place to mitigate your risk exposure, then register today. You will leave this workshop understanding how to identify risks; and steps to eliminate or mitigate those risks.

As with all good processes, risk management policies, procedures, and practices should be integrated into every aspect of a nonprofit. Policy development typically takes place at the Board or Executive level. Having the policy is the first step, but the overall effectiveness is only as good as those who adhere to the policies. Nonprofit leaders must educate everyone in the organization on the importance of risk management practices and provide tools to implement the necessary procedures.
