Ogden ED Round Table: Board Recruitment, Not the "Usual Suspects"

May 16, 2017 8:30 am - 10:00 am

As you consider your organization's mission & direction, and the current composition of your board, what kind of talented board members would strengthen your nonprofit going forward? If your answer is a wistful, "Someone named Gates, Buffet, Eccles or Sorenson!" it's time for a fresh look at who and what it really takes to build a better board.

You're invited to join us for a creative, interactive discussion to explore:

  • Why do talented people volunteer and choose to serve on nonprofit boards, or not? What works best for finding and engaging prospective board members who are the right fit for your mission?
  • What are proven strategies for recruiting and onboarding board members so they're successful from the start?
  • What are your next steps as a nonprofit executive or board member, in recruiting and strengthening your board?

Session facilitator Mary T. Migliorelli brings several perspectives to this topic, from her career spanning corporate philanthropy & volunteerism, nonprofit fundraising, grant proposal writing, technology and intergenerational mentoring. She developed her unique style of graphic facilitation and visual mapping by conducting team training, strategic planning and leadership development programs at Litton Industries, Zions Bancorporation, The Fieldstone Foundation, and in her freelance work in career design and innovation.

This event is open to Executive Directors and Board Chairs Only.
