The Utah Nonprofits Association was honored to award its first ever Nonprofit Organizational Credential Award to The Haven, on March 20, 2019. The Haven is a nonprofit organization providing rehabilitation to people suffering from the disease of addiction in a residential setting.

UNA's Nonprofit Organizational Credential Program equips nonprofits with the skills, knowledge, and expert support they need to implement best practices in nine areas essential to nonprofits including: Board Governance, Leadership and Organizational Culture, Fundraising and Development, Human Resources, Finance and Legal, Advocacy and Civic Engagement, Communications and Marketing, Outcomes and Evaluations, and Volunteer Management. Successful completion of any one course, earns that organization a UNA Badge and completion of all nine Badges earns an organization the Nonprofit Organizational Credential.

Heather Chase, Executive Director of The Haven, says, "UNA's Nonprofit Organizational Credential program guided our organization in a reevaluation of our mission. It provided us with everything we needed to update our bylaws, engage our board, and create our strategic plan. Implementing these new policies and processes was a significant multi-year effort, but we saw it as essential to help us expand our capacity to treat the rising number of people battling addiction."

Congratulations to The Haven!
