New CEO for UNA

Ms. Kate Rubalcava, takes the reins as Utah Nonprofits Association's new chief executive officer.

The UNA board and staff extend Kate a warm welcome and look forward to working with her and supporting her vision for UNA and Utah's nonprofit sector.

After a lengthy and thorough regional search, the Utah Nonprofits Association board of director's headed by Kasandra VerBrugghen, chair, chose Kate to assume leadership of the organization which represents over 600 nonprofit organizations in the state of Utah. Kate begins working at UNA January 19!

Kate, a Utah native, has over a decade of community development, organizing and education experience. Prior to joining UNA, she lead Earn It. Keep It. Save It., Utah's statewide coalition to provide Earned Income Tax Credit outreach, free income tax preparation, and asset development opportunities for CAP Utah. She has established community schools for South Salt Lake City, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the sister island nation of St. Kitts-Nevis, and promoted higher education and worked to increase community and resident leadership at University Neighborhood Partners.

Kate is also an active member in her community. She serves on the Police Civilian Review Board for Salt Lake City Police Department, is President of the Board for the English Skills Learning Center, and is a tutor through Catholic Community Services where she works one on one with a young woman enrolled in their Youth Refugee Foster Care Program.
