The Refugee Sharehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting the Sharehouse Supervisor with various tasks related to furniture donation pick-ups and drop-offs, apartment set-ups for refugee families, and maintaining the organization of the Sharehouse.

Primary Responsibilities: Major Position Responsibilities
Furniture Donation Management: Effectively pick up donated items and assist in setting up apartments for refugee families as scheduled.
Driving Responsibilities: Operate the box truck for donation pick-ups and deliveries when needed.
Sharehouse Maintenance: Collaborate with the Sharehouse Supervisor to maintain a clean and orderly Sharehouse.
Inventory Management: Help in maintaining an approximate inventory of Sharehouse supplies.
Scheduling Support: Review the daily schedule of pick-ups and set-ups in the computer system when the supervisor is unavailable.
Documentation: Assist the supervisor in accurately documenting donated items and items used in apartment set-ups.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that apartment set-ups comply with the State Department's regulations and source required items from alternative sources when necessary.
Vehicle Inspection: Conduct daily truck inspections to ensure equipment functionality and promptly report any needed repairs to the supervisor.
Volunteer Supervision: Collaborate with the supervisor to supervise volunteers in various Sharehouse activities, including apartment set-ups.
Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to organizational objectives.
Work Environment
This position primarily involves working in a warehouse, traveling, and participating in community apartment set-ups and donation pick-ups.
Additionally, this role includes time spent in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Driving is an essential component of this position.
Physical Demands
Full mobility and the ability to bend and lift heavy furniture and boxes, including couches, beds, and dressers.
Local driving between apartments, homes, businesses, the Sharehouse, and CCS's main office.

Computer Proficiency: Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills, including using the UWORKS database, scheduling, and email in Outlook.
Personal Qualities: Exhibits personal qualities of openness, respect for co-workers and clients, compassion, and graciousness in assisting clients in assessing and addressing their situations and accepting assistance.
Language Skills: Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.
Education, Training, and Experience
Warehouse Experience: Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Background Screening Requirement
Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications, and credentials
A current Utah driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Additionally, be 21 years of age or older, maintain a clean driving record, and have the capacity to fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards.
Ability to pass UDOT medical exam.
Position status and expected schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
