Position Summary: We are currently seeking several full-time Shelter Advocate positions to support individuals and families residing in our safe housing programs.
Primary Responsibilities: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Client Services
· Facilitating life skills groups
· Facilitating house meetings
· Education of clients on domestic violence and sexual assault
· Community resource brokerage
· Answering hotline/helpline calls
· Assessing eligibility
· Offering services
· Providing referrals
· Crisis Intervention and counseling
· Crisis de-escalation and management
· Facilitating client intakes and exits
· Reinforcement of shelter guidelines
· Client file documentation
· Documenting incidents
· Mandatory reporting
Housing Facilities
· Minor shelter maintenance and cleaning
· Lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Monitoring security
· Assigning key card access for clients
· Monitoring client inbox
· Each advocate may have additional individual facilities responsibilities assigned based on strengths
Record Keeping and Data Entry
· Enter client records and program data
· Monitoring client files
· Documentation of all client interactions
· Training documentation
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with agency staff and any other organizations, individuals and community partners important to the success of Peace House’s work.

REPORTS TO: Director of Residential Services
JOB TYPE: Full time – Night Shift Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10pm-10am
· Shifts may occasionally vary to accommodate staff meetings, trainings, holidays, vacations, illnesses etc. The standard schedule for this position may change based on staff and availability.
WORK LOCATION: Park City, UT
This position requires on-site attendance at our community-based Emergency
Shelter and is not eligible for telecommuting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to lift 50lbs.
· Ability to perform routine cleaning requiring lifting, bending and repetitive movements.

Desired Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must pass a background check as required for state licensing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Passionate about making a real and lasting change in the lives of adults and children
· Some college or other post-secondary education or training, preferably in human sciences
· Skills in effective communication, professional boundaries, conflict resolution, problem solving, and crisis management
· Experience in direct social services and/or knowledge of domestic violence
· Ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse populations
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
· Speaks English and Spanish fluently
· Creative, enthusiastic and flexible—open to change and learning
· Current First Aid and CPR
· Strong administrative skills
· Computer literacy
