Position Summary: As a case manager, your primary function will be to provide crucial services to newly arrived refugees, helping them to settle in and develop a plan for achieving self-sufficiency during their initial period in the U.S. You will take on the responsibility of ensuring that the service delivery system is highly responsive to the unique needs of each individual client throughout their service period. To achieve this, you will provide comprehensive case management services that adhere to the Reception and Placement Cooperative Agreement, Match Grant Guidelines, PC – Intake and Referrals for Ukrainians, Refugee Coordinated Case Management and other relevant case management grants as needed.
Primary Responsibilities: Major Position Responsibilities
1. Follow the six steps of resettlement case management when completing all major responsibilities.
a. Intake/Assessment
b. Planning
c. Coordination of Services
d. Follow-up Monitoring
e. Case Advocacy
f. Record Keeping
2. Provide R&P, Match Grant, PC-IRU, and RCCM services, including but not limited to:
a. Conducting intake assessments
b. Providing home safety orientation
c. Assisting with applications for social security cards and public benefits at DWS
d. Assisting with housing lease signing and utility setup

e. Helping clients develop skills in areas such as public transportation, budgeting and bill payment, home maintenance, ESL and public-school enrollment, housing applications, and other relevant areas.
3. Coordinate self-sufficiency plans, service integration, and agency collaboration to meet the needs of clients.
4. Facilitate cooperation and coordination with community partners who can help clients meet their needs and achieve their resettlement goals.
5. Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator and volunteers directly to utilize services that best meet the needs of clients.

7. Documents all case management services and interactions with clients in case notes and other required forms.
8. Maintain case files in compliance with case management grants.
9. Ensure financial responsibility of cases by developing budgets with clients and instructing clients about financial responsibility and self-sufficiency.
10. Attend regularly scheduled case management and staff meetings.
11. Cooperate with job developers, youth services, health services, volunteer coordinator, and other CCS staff, state agencies, and other service providers, in providing reports, documents, and other paperwork.
12. Provide interpretation and translation services as necessary.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications: Work Environment
1. The work environment is a professional office setting that uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
2. This is an onsite position; remote work is only possible in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the Executive Director, Program Director, and Program Manager.
3. Some local travel may be required, and personal vehicles may be needed when CCS vehicles are not available.
Physical Demands
1. This is largely a sedentary role but does involve some filing. The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary is required.

1. Works independently and demonstrates problem-solving and problem-prevention skills in a safe and appropriate manner.
2. Displays sensitivity to the needs of clients, their families, visitors, co-workers, and volunteers, as well as other individuals with whom the employee may interact.
3. Recognizes the value of time as a critical resource and responds promptly to the needs of clients and co-workers while adhering to CCS and other agency deadlines.
4. Consistently performs work assignments in a time-efficient manner and maintains confidentiality regarding clients.

5. Possesses proficiency in English oral and written communication, including the ability to maintain financial data, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and email using Outlook Office 365.
6. Demonstrates personal qualities of openness and respect for co-workers and clients, showing compassion and graciousness in helping clients assess and face their situations and accept assistance.
7. Language proficiency in Swahili is strongly preferred.
Education, Training and/or Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
2. 1+ years working as a case manager or similar role
3. Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or diverse populations
Background Screen/BCI requirement
1. Must pass BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications and credentials
1. This position requires driving, and the following criteria must be met:
a. Current Utah driver’s license
b. Proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident
c. 21 years of age or older
d. A clean driving record
e. Ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements
Position status and expected schedule
1. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
2. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to work past 5:00 pm if necessary, such as when a night arrival is scheduled.
