Position Summary: Program Description: As an initiative of United Way of Utah County, Help Me Grow Utah is a free statewide family information helpline designed to promote the optimal development during pregnancy and early childhood by:

linking families to information and community resources related to child development and parenting
providing personalized care coordination
creating and facilitating partnerships within the community to improve the availability and quality of services for families

Position Description: The Volunteer and Donations Coordinator is primarily responsible for increasing awareness of HMGU through children’s activity kits. Kits should help children in different areas of development, including communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, personal-social, and social-emotional. This includes:

Researching developmental activities and creating instruction sheets for volunteers to put together activity kits.
Recruiting volunteers in a variety of ways—businesses, churches, clubs, schools, individuals, etc.
Managing and supporting volunteers. Build and maintain ongoing volunteer relationships.
Collecting and organizing donations.
Community coordination – distributing these kits to partners to share with families and children.
Attending community events to share activities directly with families and children and help them become aware of HMGU.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Position can be based in either Murray or Provo, UT. Typically Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Some early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays required for community events and meetings.

Physical Activity: In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, walking, standing, listening, speaking, writing and operating a personal computer. Occasionally, he/she will be required to drive an automobile to attend meetings or events within the community. Occasionally, he/she is expected to lift and carry office records and supplies up to 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties of the job.

Primary Responsibilities: Minimum Requirements:

Community outreach, child development, volunteer management, or nonprofit experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Valid Utah Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for use during work hours (mileage reimbursable)
Willingness to commute to Murray, UT and Provo, UT for periodic meetings
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new software applications and databases
Proficient English and Spanish verbal and written skills preferred
Desired Qualifications: he Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will possess a passion for supporting families and promoting the healthy development of children. They will possess superior interpersonal skills and must feel comfortable approaching, interacting, and teaming with volunteers and community partners. The candidate should carry themselves with a great degree of professionalism and feel comfortable public speaking in front of small audiences. Additionally, they will be a self-starter who is hard-working and thorough. Spanish skills preferred, but not required.
