Position Summary: Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT is seeking to hire a Energy Auditor/Quality Control Inspector to work in our Weatherization Program. Work 40 hours a week, typical 8 hour/day, Monday thru Friday position. No nights or weekends!

This Energy Audit/Quality Control Inspector position earns a competitive wage of $27.41/hour. As a Energy Audit/Quality Control Inspector you are responsible for performing, reviewing, and providing training on residential energy audits. Will support the Audit/QCI team in conducting and reviewing residential energy audits, quality control inspection work orders for accuracy and grant compliance, . Will work on special projects including and not limited to conducting trainings for staff, partners and subcontractors; form creation and management; coordination with community partners; and other projects as assigned to ensure maximum value is provided to clients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, GED or combination of experience and education.
2 years' experience in the Weatherization Assistance Program or residential energy auditing.
Must be a Building Performance Institute certified Quality Control inspector and Energy Auditor.
EPA Certified lead inspector and Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) certification.
Bachelors degree in related filed (preferred but not required).
JOB DUTIES/COMPENTENCIES

Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with partners and staff.
Ability to use diagnostic testing equipment to evaluate gas combustion appliances, pressure diagnostics.
Evaluation of work completed by agency staff and contractors on clients' homes to ensure it meets all program requirements.
Ability to use computer and software programs to estimate energy savings upgrades and create work orders for crews to install the recommended measures.
Identify any health or safety issues related to planned weatherization projects.
Inspect and evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems and electrical systems to determine the energy consumption of each system.
Energy efficient construction knowledge.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
The ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
The capacity to work both as a team player and individually, while contributing to a productive, fun work environment and displaying a pleasant, helpful attitude.
Must have ability to work with community professionals.
Ability to read, write and interpret work orders for accuracy and completeness
Strong understanding of residential energy and building codes.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Ability to relate to low-income people.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
