Thriving Utah is an AmeriCorps State Program which partners with nonprofits and state agencies to provide capacity building through AmeriCorps service. Working closely with these organizations, AmeriCorps members create and execute a capacity building plan tailored to the organization’s needs, services, and goals.

Position Summary: The AmeriCorps member in this role will serve with the Children's Service Society, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The member will create and launch a new volunteer management system. Primary Responsibilities: Support and carry out the mission of the agency
Follow policies and procedures, dress appropriately, and represent the agency in a positive manner
Communicate with co-workers and team members positively, respectfully, and professionally. Willing to work on good communication techniques, team building techniques, and other ways to improve the CSS Support Services team
Report regularly to on-site supervisor
Be involved with the community at large and appropriate professional organizations
Attend Children's Service Society meetings as scheduled
Maintain a filing system for paperwork
Desired Qualifications: This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be 18 or older and willing to undergo a background check. Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required.
Benefits / Why Work With Us: This is an AmeriCorps position. AmeriCorps is a unique service opportunity. AmeriCorps members complete a term of service from December, 2022 through November 2023. Members will serve a minimum of 1200 hours during this time, approximately 26 hours per week. AmeriCorps members will receive a living allowance of $14,000 during their term of service. This living allowance will be paid bi-weekly. Additionally, upon successful completion of a term of service, AmeriCorps members will receive an education award of $4,441.
