Position Summary: The Therapist will provide direct counseling services to clients who are victims of crime and participate in weekly training and development to maintain trauma-informed expertise as well as other modalities to best meet the mental health needs of the clients served. The Therapist will report to the Director of Counseling and work with the Counseling team. The therapist will perform client intakes, create treatment plans, and maintain documentation according to HIPAA guidance.
Primary Responsibilities: • Knowledge and understanding of general mental health principles including developmental needs across the lifespan and family dynamics as well as specific trauma informed interventions for working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling.
• Utilize evidenced-based assessment tools to measure baseline needs and client outcomes upon completion of treatment and therapy.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Participate in weekly counseling staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain documentation according to HIPAA requirements.
Desired Qualifications: • Licensed mental health professional completing at minimum a master’s degree and requisite certification in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or clinical mental health counselor.
• Must be bilingual, in English and Spanish.
• Experience working with clients in individual, family and/or group settings.
