Position Summary: Summit Community Gardens / Eat Awesome Things, alongside the Utah Conservation Corps
(UCC), is excited to accept applications for an Assistant Garden Manager. This position is an
AmeriCorps Individual Placement Position. The Assistant Garden Manager will work together
with the Garden Director to manage all aspects of the demonstration gardens at 4056 Shadow
Mountain Drive. The Assistant Garden Manager should be a strong advocate and representative
of the garden, have demonstrated gardening skills, the ability to work well with others, and a
commitment to contribute to the community garden’s mission and growth. The manager will
learn and teach sustainable, organic farming practices.
The Assistant Garden Manager will work in our demonstration beds that are dedicated to
growing food for our “Food Farmacy.” In partnership with The People’s Health Clinic (PHC) and
the Christian Center of Park City (CCPC), we launched the Food Farmacy last summer.
Prescriptions for fresh produce are provided to PHC patients who will medically benefit from
eating more nutritious meals. We grow fresh, organic produce to fill the prescriptions, which are
distributed by CCPC in their mobile pantries.
Primary Responsibilities: • Develop a data tracking plan and collect and report AmeriCorps impact data timely and
accurately.
• Help manage all demonstration gardens - vegetable and perennial.
• Harvest and assist with the Food Farmacy program.
• Work closely with Volunteer Coordinator to identify opportunities for volunteers.
• Assist, train, and direct volunteers in planting and maintaining the demonstration
gardens.
• Harvest, record, and distribute produce from demonstration gardens (with volunteers).
• Ensure gardens are kept clean and weed-free throughout the season (with volunteers).

• Organized, motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a group.
• Desire to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to solve problems creatively.
