Position Summary: Utah Foster Care (UFC) is seeking a part-time (20 hours) Foster-Adoptive Family Consultant to serve in the Western Region (Juab, Summit, Utah and Wasatch Counties) based out of the UFC Orem office. The successful candidate will recruit potential foster-adoptive families to meet the needs of children in foster care.
Primary Responsibilities: • Implement local and statewide strategies to find qualified foster/adoptive families, including working closely with foster/adoptive parents, DCFS, local businesses and other community partners
• Conduct consultations with prospective foster/adoptive families
• Data input and management across multiple platforms
• Represent Utah Foster Care in the community and develop public awareness for a given geographical area
Desired Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable using technology and learning new technological platforms; including familiarity with social media
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills: attention to detail is crucial, good problem-solving skills, able to meet deadlines
• Collaborative work style with management, peers, and others: able to admit and rectify mistakes as they happen, flexible to change, in keeping with the Leadership & Self-Deception corporate culture
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with non-profit or government child welfare agency, including experience or knowledge of Utah’s foster care system preferred.
