Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Sr. Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator will support core Finance and HR functions. The Coordinator will support the organization with transactional finance duties including bank deposits and reconciliations, month-end accounting entries, accounts payable, corporate credit card administration and support for the financial audit. The Coordinator will also support the Human Resources department with seasonal onboarding of employees, payroll transactions, and employee benefit reconciliations. This position will also engage with our programs by working directly with staff and our participants.
You must be detail oriented, love working with people, possess excellent organization skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and experiences. A primary role of this and every other job at the National Ability Center is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor of the National Ability Center receives the highest caliber service.
The position could be part-time (20-30 hours) or full-time (32+ hours) depending on the successful candidate’s availability.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform basic finance transactions, including vendor payments, bank reconciliations, support the monthly financial close cycle and annual audit
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in Sage Intaact and Salesforce
Maintain internal controls and safeguards for cash receipts, disbursements, donor information, and financial transactions.
Provide seasonal support to Human Resources for recruiting and onboarding, including posting jobs, screening applicants, and new hire orientation
Maintain personnel records, training and certification records, and wage and unemployment verifications in Salesforce and HRIS. Maintain proper security and privacy for employee records.
Other duties as assigned
Occasional weekend or after-hours work required
Primary Responsibilities: Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Associate degree in accounting or related field or relevant work experience.
Excellent teamwork and multitasking and problem-solving skills
No HR experience is necessary. On-the-job training will be provided.
Proficiency in basic computer programs such as MS Office, Paylocity, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Sage Intaact and Salesforce experience a plus.
