Position Summary: Position Title: Data Entry Specialist

Primary Function of Position

This position is accountable for the overall timeliness and accuracy of Data entry for cash receipts, receivables, and accounts payable. Other duties will include scanning all checks, allocation of space costs, entering journal entry allocations and other help with month-end journal entries. The Annual Cash Operating Budget is $12,000,000.

Major Position Responsibilities

Cash Receipts
Day-to-day entry of all cash receipts recording donor name, address, amount and type of donation; ensuring that totals match the deposit of the day. This will be through Accufund and then Salesforce when implemented.
Accounts Receivables
Enter all receivables at month end; ensuring that all entries have been done.
Accounts Payable
Assurance of timely and accurate data entry of all accounts payable in Accufund software with amounts, vendors, and accounting codes; ensuring the totals entered match the total of the batch of invoices; once checks are printed to scan checks and backup to appropriate files.
Monthly Journal Entry Data Allocations
Quarterly Space Data Allocations
Other duties
Help with Month-end Journal Entries
Filing Month-end Journal Entries in binders.
Arranging file cabinets in systematic order.
Other Duties as assigned.
Serve as a member of Catholic Community Services of Utah staff committed to fulfilling the mission of CCS serving clients and each other in an atmosphere of hospitality that is characterized by cooperation and a positive, respectful relationship with each individual.
Maintain an open line of communication and coordination with the administrative directors to ensure all required deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Knowledge of internal control structure regarding accounts payable, purchasing, cash receipts, etc. to ensure that all procedures are followed unless approved by the executive director.

Work Environment

This position is in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Physical activities: sitting, hearing, seeing, typing, talking, writing, walking, reaching, lifting and carrying 25 pounds, 10 key by touch. Computer, accounting software, spreadsheet, and word processing skills.
Mental Process: knowledge of grammar, spelling, understanding of oral and written instructions; time management skills.
Other requirements: the ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain pleasant and professional working relationships with staff members.

Education, Training and Experience

Data entry experience and accounting experience are required.

Background Screening requirement

Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

Position status and expected schedule

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
