Thriving Utah is an AmeriCorps State program designed to support local nonprofits and public agencies in increasing their organizational capacity. Thriving Utah AmeriCorps members create and execute a capacity building plan tailored to their organization’s needs, services, and goals.

Position Summary: The AmeriCorps member in this role will serve as the Administrative Assistant with Curly Me!. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, self-motivated, and culturally competent Administrative Assistant willing to commit to 25 hours a week to help the organization accomplish our
mission. The individual will work directly with the executive director and core volunteer leadership positions, enable consistently high-quality experiences, and is essential to the success of this growing all volunteer organization. If you have a desire to give back to your

Primary Responsibilities: ● Working closely with the Executive Director, and core volunteer board members to
ensure their strategy is successful
● Event and meeting planning and support
● Coordinating leadership team, board and committee, meetings, note-taking and task management
● Create monthly emailed newsletter
● Responding to email inquiries from families, the public and the press.
● Lead volunteer coordinating with communication, placing, tracking, and coordinating
volunteers.
● Responding to donors and developing a system to track donors
● Coordinating university interns
● Basic marketing including managing social media posts, website updates, and
coordinating media events
● Responding to press and public inquiries
Desired Qualifications: ● At least a high school diploma
● Culturally competent communication skills
● Public relations skills, especially in social media
● Proficient with social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and basic
website experience
● Proactive and flexible attitude understanding the changing needs of a growing organization
Benefits / Why Work With Us: This is an AmeriCorps position. AmeriCorps is a unique service opportunity. AmeriCorps members complete a term of service from December 2022 through November 2023. Members will serve a minimum of 1,200 hours during this time, approximately 25 hours per week. AmeriCorps
members will receive a living allowance of $14,000 during their term of service. This living allowance will be paid bi-weekly. Additionally, upon successful completion of a term of service,
AmeriCorps members will receive an education award of $4,441.
