Position Summary: Summary:
OWCAP is seeking motivated and energetic individuals who love working with young children, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and working with program volunteers to ensure children are safe and having fun. In coordination with the CIRCLES Coach and the Lead Youth Facilitator, individuals will adapt the CIRCLES curriculum to plan and prepare for the children.
Primary Responsibilities: What you will do as our CIRCLES Youth Facilitator:
• Plan developmentally appropriate weekly activities in coordination with the Circles Coach in support of program requirements.
• Coordinate with and provide guidance and training to youth volunteers.
• Provide for the care and safety of infants, children and youth during weekly Circles meetings.
• Provide quality teacher-child interactions and work on building trust relationships with all assigned children.
• Build quality teacher-parent relationships.
• Use and embrace families culture, ethnicity, background and composition.
• Use developmentally appropriate behavior guidance and classroom management skills.
• Advise Circles Coach and/or supervisor of any concerns that may require parental consultation participate in consultations on an as needed basis.
• Keep accurate and updated records for each child.
• Assist with hygiene cleanliness, i.e., changing diapers/clothing. Assist in food preparation/ set up and clean up. Maintain safety of children at all times, ensuring that no child is left alone.
• Care for and maintain appearance and cleanliness of classroom. Classroom space is shared and should be left in the same condition as prior to the beginning of class.
Desired Qualifications: What you need to be our CIRCLES Youth Facilitator:
• Must have attained or be working toward High School diploma, or equivalent
• Must have experience working with children in an educational and/or child care setting. Volunteer service may be included at the discretion of OWCAP.
