Position Summary: OWCAP is seeking individuals who have a passion for influencing children birth through 5 years old in the classroom setting. These individuals must be flexible and willing to move from classroom to classroom depending on the need. Classroom substitutes must work at least twice each month in order to maintain position and can work as much as daily if able and needed. OWCAP provides Head Start services to over 500 children within the Ogden and Weber School District. Great on-the-job training and experience with the potential of turning into a full time teaching assistant position.
Primary Responsibilities: • Fill in as a teacher for our early childhood educators in our Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms
• Cover a variety of different classrooms as needed
• Care for and teach the children in our classrooms while their main teacher is out
• Ensure children are safe while at school
Desired Qualifications: • High School Diploma
• CDA or equivalent within 2 years of hire; OWCAP offers tuition reimbursement and financial support for certification
