Pay Range: $42,000 - $52,000, DoE

Position Summary: Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a residential support shelter home for homeless youth, to ensure basic necessities are provided, assist in contact and mediation with parent/guardian, coordinate connection to community programs that will assist youth in permanent housing, employment, education and self-sufficiency. Provide day-to-day supervision of all shelter home youth advocate staff assigned to provide daily assistance to residents.
Primary Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work closely with Case Manager and Deputy Director to develop, coordinate and implement an individual plan for each resident, which ensures consistency, accurate data collection and emphasizes greater independence for each person.

Ensure that the program provides comprehensive case management to all shelter residents and any drop-in clients in need of services.

Supervise support staff including selection and hiring of new staff, initial and ongoing training, scheduling and setting work hours, training, probation and annual evaluations, discipline and discharge.

Manage the physical environment (including safety, sanitation, maintenance/upkeep, etc.) and regular house routines, ensuring that licensing requirements are being maintained at all times.

Maintain adequate confidential records and files as required for staff and residents.
UHMIS (Utah Homeless Management Information System) certified for data collection.

Maintain a positive working relationship with the interdisciplinary team and adequately communicate the resident and staff needs to the appropriate person(s).

Desired Qualifications: JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, business, or management or more than five years related management experience without a Bachelor's degree.
2. Two years of supervisory experience required. Consideration will be given to applicants who have excellent skills in written and verbal communication, interpersonal relationships and organization. Spanish speaking is a plus. One year of supervisory experience preferred. 3. Previous contact or experience with persons experiencing homelessness and youth are preferred.
4. Valid driver’s license, a good driving record and proof of insurance.
5. No evidence of criminal activity involving a dependent population or any violent criminal activity.
6. Certification in CPR, First Aid and Food Handlers or ability to obtain.
7. Ability to read, write legibly, and understand written directives and policies.
8. Ability to communicate with staff, residents and their family and community organizations.
9. This position sometimes includes working evenings, weekends and on-call.
