Position Summary: Utah’s Hogle Zoo is a conservation-based non-profit organization located in Salt Lake City, UT. Our mission as an AZA accredited organization is to create champions for wildlife. As a member of our Guest Services team, you would help us advance our mission by providing superior customer service to all of our members and guests.

What you’ll do:

• Create genuine moments with our visitors every day throughout the Zoo.

• Check-in and welcome guests to the zoo.

• Sell tickets for admission to the zoo, train, carousel, and animal feeds.

• Ensure all rides operate properly and address/resolve any issues as they arise.

• Assist with various projects/activities for the Guest Services department.

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Hogle Zoo and our animals.
Primary Responsibilities: Who we are looking for:

• Customer service-oriented individuals with previous experience.

• Previous cash handling experience.

• Individuals that remain positive and professional in stressful situations.

• Individuals with dedication to conservation and the zoo’s mission statement.

• Proficiency in speaking Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Desired Qualifications: Before applying, please note:

• Employment is considered variable/non-benefited; must be available for at least four 7-8 hour shifts a week; Variable hours can be between 15-40 hours per week but must not exceed an annual average of 30 hours per week.

• Starting pay for the position is $14.00/hr

Physical demands and work environment for this position:

• Frequent standing at guest entry/exit points.

• Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and rarely lift or move up to 50 pounds.

• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions year round.
