Joint UCA & UNA Memberships

Management Tools

UNA staff members provide technical assistance to your organization with answers to your operational questions. We have collected resources and experiences from many sources to help you navigate the daily life of a nonprofit organization. You may find answers in the concept maps and curated resources on our members-only FAQ Resources Page. You can also contact us with your question and we will answer in 1-2 business days. If we don't have a resource for you, we'll do our best to find one!

UNA provides targeted training programs throughout Utah. These workshops are designed to cultivate success for member organizations by increasing impact, achieving operational excellence, and increasing funding. View our Training and Events Calendar. Read more about our Nonprofit Organizational Credential program here. The Credential workshops focus on 9 areas designed to develop best practices for your organization. Incorporating classroom learning and implementing plug and play tools lead to high level operations for which your organization receives evidence-based recognition that donors and funders can see.

The Utah Nonprofit Executive Director Discussion Group, UNA hosts workshops and round tables around the state to bring together executive directors to address relevant issues. The environment is safe and interactive allowing for real problem solving with plenty of time for networking. We also provide an exclusive executive directors-only LinkedIn group.

Budget & Cash Flow Toolkits developed by New York Council of Nonprofits with the needs and resources of smaller and medium sized nonprofits in mind. Fool-proof tools for developing streamlined, compliant, and easy to understand budgets and cash flow projections at a great member rate!

UNA provides valuable networking opportunities with your nonprofit colleagues. We host networking socials statewide for members; the relaxed atmosphere is a great way to learn about your peers, form relationships and create collaborations. These opportunities help you connect with the deep body of knowledge that you and your UNA colleagues represent.

The Business Marketplace contains UNA business members who are providing services specifically geared to benefit nonprofit organizations; one-stop shopping when looking for vendors to serve your organization.

In 2001, UNA established a Standard of Ethics Program for member organizations. The intent of this policy is to educate the nonprofit sector in Utah, to raise the quality of ethical management in Utah nonprofits, and to lift up the nonprofits in our community that demonstrate genuine integrity. Adherence to these ethical standards provide enhanced protection for our members, mitigate the need for outside watchdogs and reveal to donors those organizations that most merit their trust and confidence. We also provide the members-only Standards of Ethics Resource Guide to help you establish operations in your organization that meet these standards.

Member organizations may use the UNA conference room for board meetings and other small events. The room can handle 20 people comfortably and free parking is available.

Human Resources Tools

Coeus Global offers UNA members up to 60% savings on background screening for prospective employees and volunteers. They also offer custom screening packages and no-cost compliance and risk management consulting.

The Employers Council offers free or low-cost human resource consulting ranging from specific employee issues to the creation of a comprehensive employee manual.

Member organizations may post positions on the UNA Job Board at no charge. The UNA Job Board is recognized as the best nonprofit job board in Utah.

UNA provides the nonprofit community with a biannual Utah Nonprofit Compensation and Benefit Report so you can meet your legal requirements regarding executive compensation. Members who participate in the survey can access the report at no charge.

To help nonprofits connect with individuals interested in serving on nonprofit boards we have a LinkedIn group: Utah Nonprofits Association Board Connection. Simply join the group to post your vacant positions or to post your individual interest to sit on a board.


UNA’s Group Health Insurance program is provided through Regence and is managed by Beehive Insurance. Members can see significant savings with our group plan. We have expanded our list of brokers that can provide you the UNA Group Health Insurance to include Team Nash. Also, take advantage of group dental and vision plans.

UNA offers members a telehealth benefit from HealthiestYou for your employees at a great rate! Lower health care costs, provide convenience for your employees and join the 21st Century all at the same time!

UNA has partnered with Colonial Life and Allstate to provide 2 options for supplemental medical benefits. Nonprofit employers can expand benefit packages to include a choice of Accident, Disability, Critical Illness or Whole Life Insurance for employees. We also work with Healthiest You to provide members with a discounted telehealth benefit.

First Nonprofit Companies offers UNA members an alternative to paying state-funded unemployment taxes by establishing an individual, self-funded unemployment trust. Participating organizations are now saving as much as 20%.
