Position Summary: Provide trauma-informed individual and group economic empowerment services to individuals in the residential and community programs at the YWCA Utah.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide individual and group economic empowerment services including: Employment and educational skills assistance, budgeting, resume building, group presentations, information sharing and individualized financial literacy.
Support each program participant in achieving his/her plan with courteous, timely and meaningful help.
Conduct employment and educational needs assessment and assist with goal-setting with participants in the YWCA Utah’s residential programs.
Plan and provide group presentations and workshops for participants of the YWCA Utah residential programs in the areas of financial management, economic advancement, education, employment and other related topics.
Provide coordination for all onsite groups and activities for participants of the YWCA Utah, including but not limited to medical and mental health providers, language classes and higher education and employment opportunities. This includes coordinating space and materials, advertising, ensuring participation, and coordinating with other staff.
Plan and distribute a monthly informational flyer on various subjects in the areas of financial management, educational opportunities and employment.
Ensure safety of everyone by monitoring security and intervening in crises as indicated.
Coordinate linkages with community agencies on individual and program level. * Contact agencies/individuals providing services to residents of the YWCA Utah to ensure optimum coordination and appropriate referrals. Obtain signed releases for coordinating services.
Maintain up-to-date resource/referral lists and information areas (e.g bulletin boards) in YWCA Utah residential and community programs.
Provide Case Management support as assigned and crisis intervention as needed.
Desired Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a combined 5 or more years of education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in women’s studies, political science, public policy, communications, criminal justice, social work.
Or another closely related field plus 1-2 years’ experience in administrative assisting, office management, bookkeeping or other related field.
Or Associates degree from an accredited college plus 3 or more years’ experience.
Or High school diploma plus 5-7 years of relevant demonstrated experience (listed above)
An understanding of, and agreement with, YWCA Utah’s mission, values and philosophy regarding the elimination of racism, empowerment of women and commitment to anti-oppression work and social justice.
Understanding and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and anti-racism.
Ability to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, some weekends and evenings required.
Proficiency with general office duties, computer systems and technology.
Excellent writing, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete projects within established timeframe.
Demonstrated experience functioning within multidisciplinary settings.
Skilled in establishing effective working relationships.
Ability to collaborate and invite collaboration.
Able to demonstrate skills in effective communication, conflict resolution and problem solving.
If driving on busienss, a valid Utah driver’s license, access to an automobile, and valid auto insurance required.
