Hourly Wage - $40.00 - $49.00
As a member of Neighborhood House’s executive management team, the Finance Director is responsible for all accounting operations, financial systems and administrative duties. Finance Director supports the management team’s business planning efforts, including revenue generation models and projections; creating and implementing effective systems for gathering and reporting required data; and billing for grants and contracts. The Finance Director helps develop and implement management practices that allow the organization to meet its strategic goals. The Finance Director is charged with reviewing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures in the finance and operational realms to ensure efficient and effective operations and regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities: Position Responsibilities
• Oversee and reconcile financial transactions
• Oversee and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, pledge schedules
• Prepare adjusting, reconciling and closing entries each month, quarter, and year
• Prepare financial reports, projections and analysis
• Reconcile, monitor and follow-up on account receivables
• Provide all support for annual audit
• Assist with operational, programmatic, capital and grant budgets
• Prepare billing for government contracts and grants
• Manage administrative and operational accounting services such as fee for service, payroll, accounts payable
• Maintain proper contract management processes and protocols
• Monitor departmental key performance indicators of all existing earned income business activities.
• Drive systems/process integration to improve operational and business performance.
• Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications: Required Qualifications and Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Business or Accounting degree required, a master's level preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience in a non-profit
• Experience with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations
• Expert level accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and/or fund accounting software
• High level computer literacy
• Proven leadership ability
• Proven ability to produce accurate and highly detailed work
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
• Must be able to pass a background check
