Job Summary: Looking for employment working with young children in the social services field? Are you interested in learning more about strengthening high-risk families and in helping young children begin to heal from abuse, neglect, and trauma? House of Hope utilizes the trauma informed psycho-educational approach with small groups of young children who are residing with their mothers in residential treatment. Group assistants help provide therapeutic groups for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children in our children’s day treatment program.
Primary Responsibilities: A passion for working with young children and their families.
A desire to grow personally and professionally in the social work, mental health or child development field.
A skills set of creativity, patience, energy and ability to help children learn skills in an engaging, nurturing manner.
The willingness to be flexible, try new things, be open to feedback and handle stress calmly.
Assertive, respectful communication skills with children, parents and co-workers.
The ability to work as a team to create a safe, nurturing, consistent environment for young children.
Desired Qualifications: We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development or similar field
- Experience working with young children (6 months to eight years old)
- Good basic computer and writing skills
- An understanding of professional ethics and boundaries in the human service field
- Above average problem solving skills, conflict resolution abilities and above all, a sense of humor!

Hours: 36 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Agency Requirements:
This is a non-smoking work site.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test.
If in recovery, must have at least 2 years of sobriety.
Must have own reliable transportation and good driving record.
Must have a flu shot and be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine once available.
Benefits / Why Work for Us: Wage: $12.50/hour DOE, 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available

House of Hope is a non-profit organization providing addiction recovery and behavioral health services to help women rebuild their lives and strengthen their families at seven facilities in SLC and Provo.
