Job Summary: The Childcare Advocate provides care and supervision to the children of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors while they participate in weekly outreach programming. The Childcare Advocate works closely with the Children’s Program Manager to coordinate and organize weekly childcare hours (18/wk).
Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with the Children’s Advocates to coordinate and organize weekly childcare hours.
Provide safety and enjoyable opportunities for the children.
Keep Children’s Playroom clean and free from clutter and locked when not in use.
Serve as back-up to volunteer shifts during the day and evening.
Follow state and federal laws on victim confidentiality.
Desired Qualifications: Ability to relate positively to persons who are diverse in age, ethnicity, socioeconomic levels, beliefs, and lifestyles.
Ability to take direction and work independently without direct supervision.
Ability to read, interpret, and communicate on documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and regulations.
Must communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior childcare experience preferred.
Understand the importance of Safe Harbor Crisis Center and its role in the community.
Must pass a background investigation check (BCI).
