SUMMARY OF POSITION: Supervise and care for children and youth of Circles participants during weekly Circles meetings. In coordination with the Circles Coach and the Lead Youth Facilitator, adapt the Circles curriculum to plan, prepare and implement comprehensive, age-appropriate activities to meet the needs of children in the Circles program.
Primary Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Facilitate weekly Circles youth program and classes.
2. Implement Circles youth curriculum; ensuring age-appropriate activities
3. Plan developmentally appropriate weekly activities in coordination with the Lead Youth Facilitator in support of program requirements.
4. Use and embrace families culture, ethnicity, background and composition in weekly activities Provide for the care and safety of infants, children and youth during weekly Circles meetings.
5. Maintain safety of children at all times, ensuring that no child is left alone.
6. Coordinate with and provide guidance and training to youth volunteers.
7. Provide training on skills related to healthy parent-child relationships. Use developmentally appropriate behavior guidance.
8. Advise Circles Coach and/or supervisor of any concerns that may require parental consultation, and participate in consultations on an as needed basis.
9. Assist with hygiene cleanliness, i.e., changing diapers/clothing. Assist in food preparation/ set up and clean up.
10. Care for and maintain appearance and cleanliness of space used for activities.
11. Other duties as assigned.
• Must have attained or be working toward High School diploma, or equivalent
• Must have experience working with children in an educational and/or child care setting. Volunteer service may be included at the discretion of OWCAP.
