Under the direct supervision of the Intake Coordinator and the general guidance of the Shelter Manager, perform a variety of tasks related to the crisis center including but not limited to ensuring adherence to shelter policy and procedure, ordering supplies, tracking monthly data and completion of monthly reports, conducting initial intakes, assisting current shelter residents, and answering the 24-hour crisis line. Provide services under the parameters of the current DHS contract and other federal grants.
• Answer the 24-hour crisis line, agency lines and doors according to the center policy. Document all crisis calls in client database and dispatch domestic violence and rape advocates when called to do so.
• Complete appropriate forms on all clients checking in and out of the shelter. Document in client database. Issue client needed hygiene products and linens.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and document that interaction. Refer clients to case manager for follow-up support.
• Enforce rules, policies and procedures of the YCC, and support shelter clients during their stay.
• Maintain a supply of intake packets as well as necessary items in the shelter such as hygiene and linens.
• Document end of shift information in client database.
• Assist in chores around the shelter including cleaning client rooms, kitchen, laundry room and main areas. Assist in washing, drying and folding shelter laundry.
• Assist in the training of new intake staff, volunteers, interns, and practicum students.
• Prepare weekly food order and work with the Shelter Coordinator to maintain correct record on CACFP program.
• Prepare weekly supply order and give to Facilities Manager.
• Prepare monthly reports as follows: shelter eligibility, total nights of shelter stay and any other reporting requests.
• Enter all client file DVO1 forms into the DHS system.
• Attend VAC weekly meetings.
• Attend trainings requested by the Intake Coordinator.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures stated in the Employee Handbook and any applicable Policy and Procedure Manual.

• Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

• Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees, management, executives, vendors, clients and external partners.

• Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills.
