Job Summary: The Hospital Response Team Advocate will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through advocacy and crisis intervention as part of a mobile response team. The ideal candidate has experience in human services with an experience in working with clients from various cultural and identity groups. This job requires a person who works well independently with excellent crisis management skills.
Primary Responsibilities: Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner when responding to Salt Lake County hospitals, clinics, and when interacting with medical and law enforcement personnel who support clients. Build collaborative relationships with staff and volunteers as well as members of the community. Attend monthly Hospital Response Team staff meetings and required individual supervisions. Attend annual staff retreat. Respond to work communications within 2-business days. Provide victim advocacy and referral services to survivors of sexual violence. *Turn in client paperwork within 48-hours.
Desired Qualifications: Employee must complete and pass a criminal background check. Employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification within 90-days of employment (If you have already taken this training through UCASA it will be accepted). Employee may take the training through the Rape Recovery Center and the Center will absorb the cost for the training itself ($150.00) but cannot compensate (hourly in-office rate) for the training. Employee must complete all new hire paperwork provided to them by the end of the day on the first day of employment. Employee must agree to a probationary period of 90-days from the start of employment. After 90-days the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress. Benefits / Why Work for Us: This is a Non-exempt Position Part-Time: 6-18 hours per week, On-Call. Wage is $2.00 on call, $12.60 in-office, $18.50 - $23 DOE Schedule: We are looking to hire three advocates to fill vacant shifts. Please note we schedule multiple staff during high-demand times.
