Job Description: South Valley Services is a non-profit organization whose mission to provide options through counseling, case management, prevention and shelter to anyone who has experienced domestic violence to live lives free from violence. Our programs aim to empower individuals and communities to recognize their self-worth and to develop the necessary skills to reach their greatest potential. We believe advocacy, prevention and safety are the primary tools in the process of eliminating domestic violence. SVS has three programs to fulfill our mission:

• The Sanctuary: provides shelter for women, men and children who are seeking a safe place away from domestic violence.
• Community Resource Centers (CRCs): provide case management, healthy relationship classes, financial empowerment support, and crisis therapy to individuals and families in the community. The CRCs are located in the West Jordan City Hall, the Riverton City Hall, and Salt Lake County libraries and homeless shelters.
• Prevention and Education: informs and educates communities regarding domestic violence as well as how to recognize, respond, and refer individuals who are in need of services.

This Case Manager position is responsible for the provision of services to shelter residents and victims of crime and that need help in the community. The Community Case Manager empowers and supports victims as they work on their action/safety plans. The Case Manager works collaboratively with other agency staff and community service providers to ensure the safety, security and well‐being of shelter residents and victims of crime who are in need of assistance. Full‐time Hourly (Non‐exempt, 40 hours per week)

• Ability to pass a full BCI background check
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook Programs
• Valid Driver License, up to date auto insurance, reliable transportation
• Ability to travel to satellite offices in Salt Lake County daily from West Jordan main office
• Knowledge of community resources i.e., housing, employment, law enforcement, legal aid, etc.
• Strong public relations skills, ability to speak before large audiences, and able to actively participate in community engagement
• Ability to work sensitively and effectively with various populations

• Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field or closely related field - OR -
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s in a human services field or closely related field - OR -
• Equivalent work experience and/or substantial knowledge of community resources, effective communication skills, and dynamics of domestic violence, trauma, and other social issues.

• Directly Reports to the Community Resource Center Director

• Provide services to shelter residents and victims of crime in the community at the Community Resource Center main office and satellite offices across Salt Lake County.
• Provide clients with case management assessments and services, including but not limited to: the Lethality Assessment, Danger Assessment, development of safety and action plans, initial case management assessment, referral services, advocacy, assistance in identifying barriers and resources, etc.
• Maintain case management notes and documentation in compliance with South Valley Services’ and funding guidelines.
• Adhere to and promote the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, Victims of Crime Act, and Violence Against Women Act confidentiality mandates.
• Promote high ethical and professional standards in all relationships and activities.
• Help victims of crime and domestic violence households find permanent housing when applicable
