The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator works to develop and manage the creation, coordination, and engagement of individuals and groups in one-time and ongoing volunteer projects. This includes managing several volunteer events; overseeing the technical implementation of Salesforce and Form Assembly as tools for effective volunteer engagement; coordinating the gathering and disbursement of volunteer needs; supporting the engagement of Scouts to support donation needs, and performing other duties as assigned.

Plan and execute Year of Action volunteer opportunities for Day of Action (June), Day of Caring (September), and Startup Santa/Season of Service (December)
Oversee the collection of volunteer needs from UWSL schools/centers and ensure the list of open opportunities are up to date
Manage the collaboration and communication across departments
Oversee the connection and engagement of corporate volunteer groups in collaboration with the resource development team
Oversee the management of UWSL school/center Mobile Food Pantry opportunities
Support requests for Scout projects to support our work
Ensure effective data tracking of individuals and groups
Performs other related duties as assigned

Demonstrated experience in utilizing volunteer management best practices
Demonstrated experience in project management
Demonstrated experience in consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances
Ability to identify barriers and develop strategies to overcome them
Ability to make sense of complex information to effectively solve problems
Willingness to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
Ability to paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action
Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
Two or more years volunteer or event management experience
Experience using CRM and project management technology tools
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings, and/or early morning work hours
Reliable transportation
Candidates must be able to pass UWSL background check and drug screening to hold this position

The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information interpersonally or through communication devices. Must be able to learn new systems and procedures, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The position requires occasional movement on- and off-site to attend meetings and presentations.

This is a non-exempt position; salary depending on experience.
