Job Description: Seeking a mature, self-motivated, nurturing woman to mentor mothers of young children in our residential program. House of Hope, established in 1946, specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders and family reunification for women and children (ages birth to eight). -Mentoring mothers with newborns and young children in parenting, childcare, other life skills
-Coaching mothers in positive guidance, sleep, nutrition, potty training, etc. of toddlers/preschoolers
-Help rebuild healthy relationships between mother/child after separation
-Reinforce mothers who are making progress to feel confident and proud about parenting growth
-Assemble activities and information for mothers to answer their questions and access resources
-Plan activity learning groups (Family Labs) for mothers and young children of various ages
-Give directors advice on how to improve program for children and parents
-Work with 10-15 women on individual parenting goals in our residential centers
-Purchase materials, rewards and supplies to creatively interact with families

We are looking for someone who:
-Has a bachelor's degree
-Has experience OR education in child development, parenting, or early childhood mental health
-Is assertive, creative, and has a sense of humor (always important with parenting)
-Has great stress management and conflict resolution skills to model for mothers
-Is open to learning, accepting feedback, improving our program and being positive/proactive
-Enjoys teaching parenting skills individually and in groups; enjoys caring for infants and young children
-Wants to be House of Hope’s own “Super Nanny” to strengthen family functioning and relationships!
(Please note: Due to supervision requirements, this position is for a FEMALE staff only).

Wage: $12-13/hour, DOE. 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available.

Hours: 20-28 hours per week, somewhat flexible, depending on program schedule, most hours must be evenings (4-8 pm) & weekend days; required hours include sat activities 9-12, staff meetings Mondays 11-1/2:30-4:30 and staff training, 2nd Monday of each month, 2-4 pm.

Agency Requirements:
-This is a non-smoking work site.
-Must be at least 21 years old.
-Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test.
-If in recovery, must have at least 3 years of sobriety.
-Must have own reliable transportation and good driving record.

House of Hope is a non-profit organization providing addiction recovery and behavioral health services to help women rebuild their lives and strengthen their families at seven facilities in SLC and Provo.
