The Intake Advocate position earns a competitive wage of $15.00/hour. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A INTAKE ADVOCATE

Responsible for answering incoming agency calls and returning voicemails, education clients about all six Utah Community Action programs & eligibility requirements, conducting initial client screenings, processing applications & gathering documentation, scheduling appointments and streamlining access to applicable programs. Also responsible for referring to other community resources to support client needs. As the fist touchpoint of the agency, the Intake Advocate is trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

COMPETENCIES FOR A INTAKE ADVOCATE

*GED required, Bachelor's preferred

*Microsoft Office experience required

*Bilingual preferred (Spanish or Arabic)

* Proficient using various internet & computer applications, with excellent data entry

* Ability to use the multi-line phone system in a fast-paced environment

*Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving

*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to clients from diverse backgrounds with a Trauma-Informed approach

*Open to feedback and willing to work towards the success of the team

*High level of confidentiality & accountability

*Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

*Willingness to represent the agency with professionalism

*Knowledge of community resources, agencies and referral procedures

*Confidence with use of English, both spoken and written.

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time social services position with our nonprofit typically works 8 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5 pm. Work location in Rose Park, UT.
