Job Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for professionally and courteously performing receptionist and clerical duties for the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City, including its non-profit subsidiaries.

Primary Responsibilities: Essential Functions

1. Provides courteous, respectful, honest, timely and professional information to all HASLC staff, program participants, visitors and landlords for agency and community activities and services.

2. Professionally greets and assists the public and HASLC staff. Receives and transmits telephone calls and messages to the proper individuals. Provides standardized information and routes specific requests or complaints to the appropriate staff.

3. Answer incoming telephone calls, assist callers, take messages, provide information, and make community referrals and direct calls to staff members.

4. Scans daily newspapers clips all items pertaining to the agency or other housing related articles.

5. Monitor access to building by all visitors.

6. Receives paperwork from clients, landlords and the general public. Routes completed applications and other paperwork to appropriate staff.

7. Maintain lobby in a clean, organized manner, and ensure resources are stocked and available; monitor inventory and order necessary supplies.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications

1. The equivalent of a high school education. One year of work experience performing high public contact receptionist duties and/or at least one year in a customer service driven position.

2. Proven ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

3. Ability to relate to and communicate professionally with persons from all socio-economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds.

4. Proper telephone etiquette and procedures with continuous excellent customer services principles and best practices.

5. Knowledge of standardized office practices and procedures and record keeping methods.

6. Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

7. Ability to communicate professionally.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
