Job Summary: Utah Community Action is accepting applications for a Family Advocate. This position provides comprehensive case management for Head Start families. Earn a competitive wage of $16.57-$19.89/hour based on experience and education level. Desired Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor degree in social, human or family services required. Certification in Social Work within 18 months of hire if Bachelor's degree is not in related field. Two years of related experience preferred. Previous Head Start experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Job Summary:

Support children and families in the School Readiness Goals.
Engage with parents in learning about their child while acknowledging parent's premier role as their child's first teacher.
Work with families to maintain at least 85% attendance.
Conduct one on one application intakes with families in collaboration with the ERSEA and Health Care Teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management notes and document all follow up for children in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers to ensure that classroom coverage is maintained at all times.
Provide and follow-up on the effectiveness of referrals to community resources to ensure that the kind, quality and timeliness where appropriate; and gives additional or different resources if needed.
Work toward developing extensive knowledge of social services and community resources for families
Ensure that all children are up-to-date on well-child exams and immunizations.
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
