Job Summary: Shelter the Homeless envisions an opportunity to
provide safe, reliable, and equitable access to digital technologies to serve the needs of those facing homelessness. The Digital Inclusion VISTA will focus on developing a
digital inclusion program within each Homeless Resource Center (HRC). This includes assessing technology needs, addressing gap and barriers within our center and community, and developing a targeted curriculum that is housing focus and address the immediate needs of guests staying at the centers.
Primary Responsibilities: Duties & Responsibilities
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Research digital inclusion and digital literacy programs.
Collaborate with each HRC operator to identify needs and gaps with technology.
Research potential partnerships with organizations and corporations to gain access to low-to-no cost technology and resources for HRC clients.
Develop curriculum and materials for each HRC
Collaborate with each HRC operator to identify areas that technology can assist client in their goals.
Create a program manual that includes at minimum: policy and procedures, curriculum, volunteer assignments/opportunities, and reporting requirements.
Be a part of the Salt Lake Valley Coalition to End Homelessness to bring awareness to digital equity within the homeless population.
Collaborate with stakeholders, community organizations and individuals dedicated to expanding digital equity within Utah.
Desired Qualifications: Requirements:

Full-time service for one year.
High school diploma/GED
At least 18 years of age.
Must pass a criminal background check.

Preferred skills, knowledge and abilities:
Experience with diverse and vulnerable populations preferred.
Proficient in Excel and Word; database experience very helpful.
Time-management skills, demonstrate good judgment, excellent problem-solving abilities and always maintain a professional demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Friendly and comfortable interacting stakeholders and community partners.
A creative mind with an ability to suggest continuous improvements.
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.

Living Allowance ($12,142 per year, pre-taxes).
At the end of year of service, the VISTA can choose an Education Award ($6,000) or End of Service Cash Stipend ($1,800).
