Job Summary: Position Summary

Guadalupe School is composed of innovative, dynamic, and professional faculty members. The Cashier is a faculty member whose duties are broad and flexible. They include Meal counting Cashiering on Compass, maintaining the highest level of sanitation in the kitchen, and performing whatever duties the Food Services Director see necessary. The Cashier is part of the larger Guadalupe agency, which may entail additional activities with parents, staff, and the community. Cashier’s work is performed under the general supervision of the Kitchen Manager with consultation from the Food Nutrition Services Director.


Basic operations of a school cafeteria.
Principles and methods of quantity food service preparation, serving and storing.
Standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements.
Methods of computing food quantities required by weekly or monthly menus.
Sanitation and safety practices related to transporting and serving food and principles of nutrition.
Record-keeping techniques.
Principles of training and providing work direction.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Primary Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Point of Service Cashier verifying reimbursable meals
Records the serving of meals to students, teachers and other staff.
Participates in food serving and preparation as needed
Assures proper cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and supplies used in the cafeteria.
Assist with preparing daily report of meals served.
Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
Demonstrate dependability, regular attendance, consistent punctuality, efficient management of work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D.
Two years food service experience preferred.
Valid Food Handlers permit Physical Demands and Work Environment
Desired Qualifications: ABILITY TO:

Plan, organize and assist the manager in the food service operation at an assigned school site.
Estimate food quantities and requisition proper amounts for economical food service.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Work independently with little direction.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
