Salary: $14.50-15.00/hr DOE

Job Description:

Coordinate, oversee, and manage mental health services for our Refugee Resettlement program.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include:

Assess our existing education program and identify areas where we can improve our mental health education in clients' initial weeks following arrival.
Review the mental health assessments performed during the initial health screening.
Administer assessments for all eligible clients at the third and sixth month after arrival.
Refer clients to the appropriate mental health provider and coordinate transportation and interpretation for their intake. Provide individualized services to clients who turn down referrals and work with them to identify barriers and alternative treatment options.
Research and provide ongoing training for medical interpreters and other CCS staff about mental health and trauma-informed, strength-based social services.
Manage all record-keeping aspects of mental health services. Work closely with the Utah Department of Health for monthly reporting and billing.
Attend monthly coordination meetings with mental health partners in the community to follow up on client's progress and address any gaps in their services. Perform outreach to refugee communities and other service-providers to seek out alternative community support networks and culturally-appropriate interventions.
Assist with case file audit and compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Services Supervisor.
Desired Qualifications: Skills, knowledge and abilities:

Understanding of the challenges refugees are confronted with and common mental health conditions present in the populations CCS serves.
Ability to collaborate with other staff and outside agencies. High degree of comfort with relationship-building and networking in the community.
Strong listening skills and the ability to identify a broad spectrum of needs.
Patience and the ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds to ensure they understand mental health care in the United States, the resources available to them and how to access them.
Personal qualities such as integrity, compassion, empathy, courtesy, dignity and respect towards all clients and staff while assisting clients to accept and change their situations, as appropriate.
Ability to foster trust and confidence in others.
Proficiency in oral and written communication.
Ability to function as a member of a team and in concert with other staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to pass a BCI.
Availability of an automobile with proof of current driver's license and auto insurance.


Education, training and or experience:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology or Counseling or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred. Experience with data collection, compilation and analysis.
Proficiency with the internet and computer software including MS Word and Excel.
Mental health background preferred.
