Job Description: Preservation Utah (previously known as Utah Heritage Foundation) seeks qualified applicants for the staff position of Memorial House Manager to oversee event sales, marketing, operation, management, vendor relationships, and historic stewardship at Memorial House in Memory Grove Park. This is a position vacancy, not a new position.

Description

Responsible for sales and marketing of wedding, corporate, and community events at Memorial House, which is operated by Preservation Utah in Memory Grove Park near downtown Salt Lake City. The successful candidate will be required to develop and implement strategic plans for marketing, selling, and managing events. A special emphasis is placed on developing ideas to increase the number of bookings at, and new sources of revenue for, Memorial House.

Applicants must be professional, energetic, organized, and self-motivated with the ability to manage a budget and staff. At the same time, applicants must demonstrate a strong track record of developing client relationships and providing high-quality customer service. Applicants must have some supervisory experience and possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Applicants are preferred to have a background of 2-3 years in hospitality/event management, marketing, promotion, and/or sales. Some experience in hotel/hospitality sales, customer service, and/or event management is also preferred. Applicants must possess basic computer experience with some advanced technology and social media skills. Weekend and evening work is required, but a flexible schedule is allowed. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director.
