This is a full-time, year round position, located in Salt Lake City.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development with a focus on infant and toddler development preferred. Associate Degree/CDA in Early Childhood Education with a focus on infant and toddler development required if you do not have a Bachelor’s degree. Previous Early Head Start and/or experience working with infants/toddlers and teen mothers preferred.
Job Summary:
• Support a classroom team in providing a comprehensive Early Head Start program.
• The Lead Teacher is responsible for the safety, supervision, and activities of the children birth to 3 years of age assigned under his/her care in the program.
• Must maintain full compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing Policies and Health Department Codes and Regulations
• Relate with children in a positive way.
• Accept responsibility for children under his/her care.
• Leadership and supervisory skills as a Lead Teacher.
• Ability to coordinate and assign classroom workloads.
• Knowledge of internet, e-mail, various word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Correct use of English, both verbal and in writing.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
