Job Description: Job Description: Plan and implement national accredited Preschool class to ensure
health, safety, and enrichment of children birth through age five.
Responsibilities:
a. Planning, implementing and supervising preschool and pre-k stimulation and educational activities in order to enhance their emotional and physical growth.
b. Provide developmentally appropriate practice, comfort, nurturing and guidance to preschool and pre-k in order to enhance their emotional and physical growth as outlined by NAEYC and State Licensing Guidelines. Plan and implement emergent curriculum.
c. Work with teaching team to create and maintain a cheerful, aesthetically pleasing child care environment that reflects the cultural diversity and interests of the children.
d. Train assistant teachers and volunteers in their assigned duties assuring their time is spent in appropriate and meaningful interaction with children and/or preparation of lesson materials.
e. Responsible for accurate record keeping, data collection, and anecdotal child reports in order to ensure coordinated departmental interventions.
f. Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of facility according with health and hygiene standards, including but not limited to the toileting area, toys, cots, sheets, diaper changing area and food service/preparation area.
g. Maintain compliance to Child Care Licensing, Federal Food Program, NAEYC Accreditation, Grant requirements, and YWCA standards.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
1. 18 years of age. Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree or CDA preferred.
2. If no CDA upon hire, must be willing to obtain CDA or have experience working with ages 0-5.
3. 3 – 5 years’ experience in early education. Preschool experience preferred.
4. Meet all State Child Care Licensing Requirements including Food Handler’s permit, CPR/First Aid.
5. Ability to work assigned hours on a regular basis.
6. Ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse populations.
7. Valid Utah driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and motor vehicle check (if required).
