Job Description: Job Summary:

Cook in a peaceful setting creating high quality meals from scratch under USDA nutritional guidelines for women residing at the YWCA as well as daycare and school aged children. The ideal candidate will be a creative, conscientious, and culturally sensitive team player who enjoys fostering a welcoming community environment for the women and children served by the YWCA. Responsibilities:
• Prepare preplanned meals and snacks for Shelter and childcare using serve safe techniques.
• Follow all guidelines as described in Job description,(cooking, prep, cleaning etc.)
• Receive and rotate inventory, deliveries and help put away as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to all residents and their children.
• Keep all records necessary to ensure that work is conducted in accordance with agency, contractual, and legal requirements.
• Follow all boundary and confidentiality rules.
• Articulate and promote high ethical and professional standards in all YWCA program, activities, services, and with all agency publics.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, other key publics, and any other organizations and individuals important to the success of the YWCA’s work.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
 2+ years of related institutional cooking experience is preferred.
 A food handler’s permit is required.
 English is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful.
 Meal planning and multitasking experience is preferred.
 Applicant must successfully pass a background check.
 Ability to work sensitively and effectively with people of diverse ages, ethnicity, socio-economic levels, beliefs and lifestyles.
 If driving on agency business, a valid Utah driver’s license and automobile insurance.
 Ability to work assigned hours on a regular basis.
 Ability to work alone and perform all kitchen duties
