Job Description: Volunteer Coordinator Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The volunteer coordinator embraces the mission of The INN Between, is passionate about our program, and undesrtands the inmportance of recruiting, retaining, and recognizing volunteers. The volunteer coordinator will know how to distinguish talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire. You must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes, coordinates and manages the recruitment of volunteers for the board, various committees, departments and association programs.
Works with social, civic and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers.
Develops and implements training programs for all volunteers.
Maintains updated records on all volunteers.
Sets up and attends volunteer meetings.
Reports to staff on volunteer activities as needed and works closely with activities coordinator.
Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization.
Develops and implements a volunteer recognition program

QUALIFICATIONS
• Passion for The INN Between's mission
• Outgoing, creative, driven, upbeat with a willingness to build and sustain community involvement
• Education in business administration, human resources, political science or relevant field will be appreciated
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Computer proficiency and experience with donor management software such as Little Green Light
• Proven organizational and administrative abilities
• Training experience preferred
• Strong collaboration and team building skills
• Evening, weekend and off-site work occasionally required
• Have 3 years job-related experience, such as working in a non-profit, managing volunteer programs, leading teams and/or organizations a plus.
