Job Summary: The Assistant Box Office Supervisor assists the Box Office Manager in all box office objectives and procedures, including selling tickets for performances, auditing ticket sales for a production run, hiring and training box office hourly staff, and depositing funds with General Accounting. Assists Event Managers and Box Office Manager with performances at Kingsbury Hall and any other venues UtahPresents programs in or supports on behalf of the College of Fine Arts.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at our location if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.
Primary Responsibilities: Essential Functions

•Assists in selling tickets for performance and events, auditing each production run, and depositing funds daily.

•Assists in setting up performances on the ticketing software system and ensuring performances are ready for sales deadlines.

•Supervises box office hourly staff; coordinates scheduling and responsibilities with event staff at multiple venues.

•Assists Event Managers with front-of-house activities as needed during performances.

•Attend all appropriate departmental and campus meetings

•In cooperation with operations team members, review applications, interview candidates, and select box office staff per University hiring procedures

•Be a willing and collaborative participant in the department and campus community

•Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Desired Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications

One year previous box office, customer service, and supervisory experience or related experience required; superior interpersonal skills both in management and group decision-making along with organizational, written and oral communications skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred.

•Must be tenacious, flexible, and possess a sense of humor

Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred.

•Must be able to withstand long hours of concentrated physical activity, including reaching overhead and lifting and carrying 25 pounds
