Job Summary: The Road Home is seeking a highly motivated individual who is committed, compassionate, willing to be challenged, and who wants to make a difference in the lives of others. Reporting to the Program Improvement Specialist, the Guest Services Advocate is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate dispersal of mail for our guests at the Men’s Resource Center, and for the upkeep and organization of our guest storage area. The Guest Services Advocate will sort through the mail received at our facility daily, collaborating with a variety of departments to ensure internal mail is connected to the appropriate employee quickly. Guest-specific mail will be recorded in a purpose built-database and filed in our mailroom, where our frontline teams can deliver to guests throughout the day. The mail our guests receive at the Men’s Resource Center is essential to their progression back into housing as identification cards, birth certificates, Social Security information, and other vital documents are mailed to us daily. A similar process will be followed to ensure the upkeep and organization of our guest storage area, which requires regular purging of items that have been left and basic facility maintenance. Working together with our Housing Advocate, Case Management, and Operations teams (as well as a variety of others), the Guest Services Advocate will ultimately ensure the mail and storage needs of our guests are supported day after day, helping our guests step out of homelessness and back into housing.
Primary Responsibilities: 1. Sort, file, and assist with the distribution of client and staff mail in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Prepare outgoing mail, ensuring packages and letters are properly labeled and/or stamped for accurate delivery.
3. Assist Housing Advocates with mail delivery, storage room open hours, and other front desk tasks as needed.
4. Ensure mail room and storage room are kept clean, organized, and free of excessive items.
5. Provide Trauma-Informed customer service to guests, ensuring each guest is treated respectfully and with dignity.
6. Attend staff meetings as needed.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications: Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
3. Previous experience working with computers, basic databases, and filing systems preferred.

3. Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Care and Housing First philosophies and willingness to incorporate them into your daily work.

6. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
7. Willingness to accept supervision and direction as well as constructive feedback.
8. Reliable and dependable with an attention to detail.
9. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
10. Must have a clean driving record and be insurable on the agency liability policy.

Physical and Equipment Requirements:
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to stand and/or walk for an hour or more at a time
Must have valid, unexpired driver’s license
