Job Summary: Craft Lake City® is looking for a Public Relations intern to assist with press coordination/promotion and marketing efforts on behalf of Craft Lake City including our Second Annual Craft Lake City Holiday Market.

The PR Intern position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the organization. Working with the Craft Lake City Team you will support key communications functions such as public relations and content creation to help achieve our vision. This individual excels at implementing strategic publicity plans, providing innovative ideas, drafting press releases and other creative messaging for diverse audiences.The PR Intern will become intimately familiar with Craft Lake City’s programming, and will continually work as a member of the team to collaboratively innovate and improve upon our ability to create mission-driven communications and strategy that resonate with the community.
Primary Responsibilities: -Implementing short-term and long-term communication strategies that meet organizational goals
-Identifying opportunities to promote Craft Lake City and its programs to target audiences and media outlets
-Following the Craft Lake City brand style guide for consistent messaging and branding.
-Collecting and managing data and statistics that measure the success of communication efforts
-Drafting and distributing press releases and media alerts
-Updating and creating content for the Craft Lake City website
-Assisting in the production of Craft Lake City’s printed and digital promotional materials (brochures, videos, flyers, etc.) as needed
-Identifying new ways to engage with Salt Lake City’s communities.
-Contributing to Craft Lake City’s interaction with clients, the media, and the general public
Desired Qualifications: -The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing or Communication.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-A passion for writing and creative storytelling
-Likes to network and meet new people
-Ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
-A keen eye for detail
-Organized and efficient in ability to document, manage, monitor and track data
-Exceptional customer service skills when dealing with both colleagues and partners
-Experience with workflow and information management tools such as Google Drive, Asana or Airtable a plus
-Ability to respond positively to criticism, to self-reflect, and to change directions when necessary
-Willingness to go above and beyond in order to make things happen
-Experience with marketing or public relations
-Spanish speaking a plus but not a requirement

-Ability to work 15-20 hours per week,
-Ability to work extended hours at the Holiday Market December 4 and 5.
-Must have your own laptop and cell phone, with willingness to use for Craft Lake City tasks
-Must have reliable transportation, with willingness to use for Craft Lake City tasks
-This is a part-time intern/contract position
